BES, Senior Programme Officer

Crystal Africa is currently the BES Senior Programme Officer at EISA. The BES Unit, under Crystal’s management won the ‘Champion for innovation’ at the World Summit on Information Service (WSIS) 2020. A proud graduate of Curtin University of Technology, Perth, Australia, and Cape Peninsula University of Technology  (CPUT). With over 15 years’ experience in electoral project management, she is inspired to support organisations across all sectors to deliver credible elections and ensure sound governance structures.  Prior to working at EISA, she was Manager: Student Governance and Leadership Development at the University of KwaZulu-Natal (UKZN).

BES, Project Coordinator 

Riana Henley is currently the Balloting and Electoral Services (BES) Project Co-ordinator based in Johannesburg, South Africa. Her interest in issues relating to elections, democracy and governance led her to work with the Electoral Institute for Sustainable Democracy in Africa (EISA) from 2015. Riana is part of the BES team who won the World Summit on Information Service (WSIS) Prize 2020 for innovation in the use of ICT in managing elections. She continues to contribute to the credibility and legitimacy of organizational elections by providing impartial and professional electoral administration and support.
