EISA Executive Director Denis Kadima on working visit to Niger

EISA Executive Director Mr Denis Kadima with the Prime Minister of Niger, His Excellency Mr. Rafini Brigi EISA Executive Director's recently took part in a working visit to Niger wherein Mr Kadima inquired about the state of several EISA projects. These include EISA's support to the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI) and the Superior Council of Communication (CSC). Mr Kadima met with the President of the CENI, Maitre Issaka Souna, and the President of the CSC, Mr Kabir Sani (26 October) as well as the head of the EU delegation in Niger, Ambassador Denisa-Elena Ionete.

During the visit, Mr Kadima also visited the Prime Minister of Niger, His Excellency Mr. Rafini Brigi, who thanked EISA for its technical support in supporting both the CENI and the CSC.

EISA supports both Niger's media regulator; the Superior Council of Communication (CSC; Conseil Superior de la Communication) and the Niger CENI through various programmes aimed at strengthening internal capacity

On the 27 of October, the CSC organised an information and training workshop for political parties and independent candidates regarding how they can optimise their access to the media for the upcoming 2020/ 2021 elections.

The aim of the workshop was to inform and train political parties and their respective media managers on programming, recording, editing and/ or publication of campaign messages as well how to utilise airtime granted by the media. Mr Kadima and Mr Sani Kabir, President of the CSC, were both in attendence.
