The EISA Regional Representative to ECCAS Florent Kabongo Musakayi presented his letter of accreditation to the Secretary General of ECCAS in Libreville. This ceremony follows the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the two institutions since 2010 in view of EISA's support to the ECCAS Electoral Unit.
The regional representative and the Secretary General of ECCAS reviewed the cooperation between the two institutions in electoral matters and discussed ways and means of strengthening it.

Denis Kadima, EISA's Executive Director, met with Secretary General of ECCAS on the 3 May 2017 to discuss ECCAS-EISA cooperation. The meeting focused on evaluating the work that has been done to date and on the planning of future work.
August 2016
In August 2016, EISA Regional Representative in ECCAS met the Secretary General of ECCAS to discuss the partnership between the two institutions. The Secretary General recognized EISA's presence within the unit has enabled ECCAS to be more proactive in its member states, being able to offer capacity building and technical support to electoral commissions and be more responsive to member states' needs. ECCAS would like the MoU of 2010 to be updated within weeks to make sure EISA continues to respond to ECCAS' needs.

General Louis Sylvain-Goma, Secretary General of the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) and EISA Executive Director Denis Kadima signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Wednesday 16 June 2010.
The MOU will govern the partnership between the two organisations in the area of election observation and support in Central Africa.
ECCAS member states are Angola, Burundi, Cameroon, Central African Republic, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon, Republic of the Congo, Rwanda and São Tomé and Príncipe.
EISA conducts programme activities in several of these countries.
