In the light of the forthcoming Botswana elections in October 2009, EISA conducted a number of training workshops for political parties in Botswana in August and September 2009.

The objective of the workshops were to enable parties to participate in the electoral process, more specifically to:

• equip parties in Botswana with campaigning skills
• assist party officials in preparing their election
• provide information relating to electoral law, codes of conduct, electoral procedures and poll watching and to
• provide participants with effective leadership skills.
